5 Steps to Embrace Self Love

We feel rejected by the lack of love from someone and quickly find a replacement to sustain our own dependency. Yet others fear loneliness and create distractions in their home (i.e. television, computer or music) to break from the illusion of solitude.

Some of us leave relationships for new ones similar to Squirrels jumping from branch to branch. We feel rejected by the lack of love from someone and quickly find a replacement to sustain our own dependency. Yet others fear loneliness and create distractions in their home (i.e. television, computer or music) to break from the illusion of solitude.


In reality what we lack is love for ourselves or self-love. Self-love is a deep connection to our inner self which is the source for attracting all things we desire including long-term, sustainable relationships.
The love for ourselves attract deeper connections with others when we learn to appreciate all things that stem from our own inner growth while, in tandem, removing self-criticism and judgment.

Here are five steps to promote more self-love into your life:

1) Remove judgment - When you judge others, you are really judging yourself. Provide more tolerance and acceptance of others because you become a more tolerant and accepting person of your own faults and tendencies.

2) Affirm your life - Promoting affirmations is accepting the positives of what is true about you. For example if you say you are a gifted and intelligent person, then you are! No one can take your affirmations especially if you believe they are true. The more you affirm your words, the more you believe them as your truth. The best affirmations start with "I Am"...as a statement. Find the positive qualities of yourself and remind yourself on a daily basis.

3) Clear the Clutter - Try turning off the "components" in your environment (i.e. - television, computer, music) and spend time in quiet meditation. Turning off outside distractions will allow you to go inward for your answers.

4) Meditate - Part of removing distractions includes quieting your mind. Get to a place of peace and contentment by practicing daily meditations. You can find various guided meditations or practice various types of deep relaxation and energy healing through Yoga, Reiki, etc. Sometime the best meditation is peace and tranquility. Find time to go out in nature and sit quietly.

5) Aspire to Inspire - We can find the gift of inspiration in all things if we look for them. Whether you listen to lyrics in a song or notice the shape of leaves on a tree. Aspire to find the inspiration and beauty about life on a daily basis.

Self love is like a mirror which means your love for others will only be as deep as you love yourself. Loving yourself in a deep and meaningful way will allow you to express love for others with deeper meaning and feeling. Try these steps to promote self-love, and witness how the attraction of true love is returned and transforms your life in all ways!
